My great-grandfather and grandfather were both attorneys and established a Trusts & Estates firm in lower Manhattan. The enthusiasm that my grandfather had for helping his clients was inspiring. During the summer between my Junior and Senior years of High School, I held an internship in his law office and was also invited to attend the National Student Leadership Conference program on Law & Advocacy. At the conclusion of the program, I received the top award for Trial Advocacy at the conclusion of the mock trial competition and my interest in trial work was awoken. The following summer, I was invited to attend the alumni program on Appellate Advocacy and received the top award for Appellate Advocacy at the conclusion of the appellate argument competition. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, I began to explore a career in law and fell in love with litigation.
I love litigation because it requires an enormous amount of teamwork. Growing up playing competitive sports, I learned at a very early age that to achieve the greatest success possible, one must learn to work as a team member toward a common goal by both giving and receiving trust and support along the way. Litigation mirrors this lesson. In order to provide excellent service, a client must be provided with a team, not just a lawyer. Sobo & Sobo offers a competent team of lawyers and staff for each and every client that walks through its doors.
