May 16 was a tragic day for one woman who was seriously injured after an SUV crashed into a spa. The woman was an employee at a New York state spa when the motor vehicle crash took place. Currently the accident is under investigation by local law enforcement.
Police reports indicate around 10 a.m. an SUV driven by a 41-year-old local resident left the road and crashed into the spa, entering the building and striking and pinning a 27-year-old employee. Police are unsure what caused the driver to veer into the wrong lane before leaving the road altogether, but their investigation is ongoing. Local law enforcement as well as fire departments and emergency teams responded to the accident.
The victim was removed from the wreckage and rushed to a local hospital, where she is listed as being in stable condition, though she did suffer from internal injuries. The driver was also remanded to health care professionals after having suffered only minor injuries in the accident. So far, there has been no word whether there were any charges filed, and it is unclear if any external factors were responsible for the crash.
Regardless of the outcome of the investigation into the motor vehicle crash that could easily have turned deadly, the injured victim may have a long road ahead of her. Injuries sustained during the accident may have long-lasting effects not yet obvious, and either way she is already losing time from work. It may benefit her to seek out additional information about New York legal precedent for a personal injury suit.
