The general consensus among most drivers is the desire to reach their destination with as few problems as possible. Ideally, every excursion would end with everyone reaching their destination in a safe and timely manner. The potential to be involved in a car accident is an unfortunate part of reality for some New York drivers.

Despite car accidents possibly being a part of the driving experience, drivers do not strive to be involved in them. When most drivers enter the roadway, their primary objective is to reach their destination in an efficient, but safe manner. It can be assumed that New York drivers, despite their notoriously fast-paced lives, do not find being involved in a car accident an efficient use of their time or a safe-driving experience.

Recently, police report that a driver who had been traveling southbound crossed into the northbound lane where he collided with a minivan. All of the occupants in the minivan were taken to the hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. The passenger in the vehicle that struck the minivan died in the accident, but the driver was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The cause of the car accident is still under investigation. Police are asking that anyone with information regarding the accident call their department.

Individuals who have been involved in a car accident potentially face severe, lifelong physical trauma. Furthermore, loss of a loved one or time away from work can create added emotional and financial hardships. Parties involved in a New York car accident may find it helpful to assemble documentation of possible negligence should they decide to pursue compensation by filing a personal injury or wrongful death claim.
