Entering a busy intersection requires the motorist to proceed with a reasonable degree of care. If a motor vehicle accident ensues, New York police officials are normally called upon to investigate to determine the cause of the collision and whether any laws were broken. In a recent car accident, police have yet to disclose what caused an SUV and church van to collide, which resulted in seven individuals being sent to the hospital.
The accident is believed to have occurred around 10:30 p.m. The collision resulted in two occupants of the van and five individuals from the SUV being sent to the hospital. One of these individuals is believed to have suffered critical injuries. Further information on the medical condition of the victims was not available.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Each one had to be towed from the scene. It was reported that over 50 emergency personnel responded to the scene of the accident.
Preliminary information regarding this motor vehicle accident was scarce. As the investigation continues and interviews of the drivers and occupants are conducted by New York authorities, the cause of this accident may be revealed. Although this report is helpful, it is not necessary in order for injured parties to seek legal remedies. If any victims choose to turn to our state courts to press forward with claims for monetary damages, they will need to prove their injuries were caused by the negligence of another party. A successful personal injury claim typically seeks reimbursement for medical bills and related costs, lost income from any employment, as well as pain and suffering related to the injuries sustained.
