I try to establish a strong relationship with my clients through communication which assists in best presenting their position in a case. I work diligently in evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of each case I handle so I am always prepared, am able to anticipate the opponent’s strategy, and have rarely, if ever, been outworked by an opponent in a case.

I love the challenge of going against skilled opponents, achieving a good result for my client, and the look of satisfaction in a client’s face at the end of a case.

I secured a higher than expected settlement through mediation for two plaintiffs who were ambushed by a group of people after they left a bar where the two groups had a minor altercation earlier in the night. I was able to keep the bar in as a defendant for both the Dram Shop Act and common law negligence despite the final altercation taking place in the parking lot next to the bar. I had to find, locate and depose over twenty witnesses (many of which did not have established residence addresses or employment, survive a summary judgment motion by the bar, and obtain a settlement through mediation roughly what would have been expected from a jury trial. The settlement as opposed to trial was significant because neither plaintiff was a sympathetic plaintiff.

A close second is the verdict I obtained in a jury trial for a DCFS investigator in a Defamation lawsuit against DCFS and a co-worker. In so doing, I had to overcome the qualified immunity.
