Car Accident Causes Back Injury, Awarded Entire Insurance Policy

A South Fallsburg woman was awarded the entire insurance policy as compensation for serious injuries she suffered to her lower back as a result of a car accident in the town of Thompson. The accident caused a herniated disc in her lumbar spine. The insurance company refused all settlement offers, claiming that the injuries were caused by arthritis and not the accident. After an arbitration proceeding, the referee determined that the car accident caused the herniated disc and he awarded the woman a sizable settlement.

Construction Accident Settlement For Worker, Who Fell 20 Feet

A construction worker fell 20 feet from a scaffold while at work on a construction site. He suffered several injuries including two fractures that required surgery and the insertion of a plate and screw in both heels.
